Skin, hair and nails all need nourishment, and often beauty on the outside reflects health on the inside. Shiny hair and glowing skin are more than just about the products you put on them and the treatments you receive. This will be an opportunity to focus on how to support beauty from the inside out.

Baby Nourishment
The second part of the seminar will address the basics of how to best support your baby’s health and immunity, and ensuring your kids are getting all the nutrients they need for healthy development into early childhood.

Each talk will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions and to mingle with other people in the group, exchange experiences and connect with like minded people.

Healthy Afro Hair Workshop

Time: 12:30 – 4:30pm
Workshop Coordinator: Mane Divas
Location: Newham African Caribbean Resource Centre, 627 Barking Road, London, E13 9EZ

This hands-on workshop offers you a great opportunity to really get to learn about your hair and its needs. You will have the opportunity to attend 4 workshops in one day, which is great value for money.

These educational and empowering sessions will allow you to take control of your own hair care and maintenance and that of your children. The four workshops being offered include:

  • Hair Consultation and Porosity Check – The Mane Divas team can offer you a one to one consultation, to assist you in planning a regime to put you on the road to a healthy mane. They will carry out a porosity check on your hair samples then recommend products suited to the results, whilst creating a regime for you to take home. There will also be an option to purchase a personalised applicator bottle mixed with natural oils from the Mane Divas collection, which range from the popular Jamaican Black Castor oil to Jojoba oil.
  • Hair Loss clinic with Dr Akingbola –  Are you suffering from hair loss or breakage? Covering up patches with extensions or different styles? Or is your hair just growing a lot slower than you’d like? You’ll be pleased to hear that you’re not alone…After listening to your needs and requests, we have found that the one common issue amongst our clients is increased hair loss. According to Dr. Amy McMichael, a dermatologist at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Centre, women of Afro-Caribbean descent are particularly prone to hair loss conditions. This can be for a number of reasons; poor hair care, excessive heat damage, Traction or Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) led by tight braids or incorrect chemical use and also health and nutrition issues.Hosted by Mane Divas visiting all the way from Essex this workshop will be addressing all of those issues, and more importantly advising you on the steps to take to avoid all of the above. We have invited Dr. Lola Akingbola MSc Clinical Dermatology, the author of “8 Weeks to Longer Hair” to join our group conversation on the topic and she will expand on some of the intrinsic causes of hair loss briefly mentioned in her book. These often include nutritional, genetic and metabolic factors. She will also aim to highlight some of the key signs which can prompt you to seek a medical professional’s advice. Stop covering up that patch or ignoring your breakage and register for this exclusive workshop NOW! We’d love to see you there and share each other’s experiences
  • Divas Kitchen – You will be shown how to mix items in your kitchen and create your own personalised hair cocktail i.e shea butter moisturiser with Natural oils or a personalised hair masque.   Prior to mixing there will be a short presentation as to the benefits of the ingredients being used. You will then be given the opportunity to select the ingredients which apply to your individual hair issue ie breakage, dry scalp, shedding etc. The products used will be all natural ingredients and you will be provided with a booklet to take away with you, which will further explain their properties and uses of items already in your kitchen and how they can benefit your hair.
  • Kids Hair Workshop –   Want to learn how to treat your child’s hair; not sure on what products to use; regimen to follow; mixed heritage or combination of textures?  Mane Divas can offer advice and suggestions on setting your children on the path to healthy hair just like mummy! With hair style ideas and demos on Cornrowing and twists this is not a workshop to be missed.

            You will also receive:
  • A Goodie bag
  • A discount on all Mane Diva’s products on the day
  • An Exclusive discount on Dr Akingbola’s book
